SoCal ACT Hosts LAX People Mover Tour
Article by ACT's SoCal Chapter
On Friday, February 7, SoCal ACT members attended an exclusive tour of the LAX People Mover train and Consolidated Rental Car Facility. Expecting to save 117,000 vehicle miles traveled per day once it becomes operational in 2026, the train stretches 2.6 miles with multiple stops inside and outside the airport. The train is free for travelers and employees, will operate 24 hours a day, and takes just 10 minutes to travel end-to-end.
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) led 30 guests on a tour starting at the impressive new Consolidated Rent-a-Car facility. Attendees also caught glimpses of the LAX/Metro Transit Center station (opening early 2025) and visited the people mover stop at the LAX Economy Lot while watching planes descend onto the airfield. Between stops, participants listened to an audio tour detailing various LAX Capital Improvement Projects underway at the airport.
The event concluded with a luncheon at the Proud Bird Restaurant.
Thank you to LA Metro, RideAmigos, Commute with Enterprise, LAWA, and everyone who made this event possible!
