2025-2026 Board Spotlight: Aaron Fodge

Member Spotlights,

Aaron Fodge, TDM-CP, CAPP is the Director of Active Transportation and Fleet Services at Colorado State University, a Rocky Mountain Chapter member, and the Treasurer of ACT's Board of Directors. Meet Aaron and learn more about him in this February board spotlight!

Aaron Fodge first dipped his toes into the field of TDM in 1998. After earning his graduate degree, he began his career as an Environmental Planner for the City of Fort Collins. This innovative environment, an early leader in bike lanes, trail development, and Bike to Work Day initiatives, was the perfect backdrop to launch his career.

Today, Aaron serves as the Director of Active Transportation and Fleet Services at Colorado State University. After years of experience collaborating with professionals across transportation, marketing, planning, and sales, he continues to be inspired by the creativity and perseverance the field demands. His passion lies in developing innovative solutions that enhance mobility and benefit his community.

Aaron says, "I will always be a public servant at heart. My parents instilled the value and fulfillment of crafting a career dedicated to helping others. TDM is about ensuring access and mobility for all employees and students. I can't think of a better professional motivator than helping people fulfill their career and academic aspirations through reliable transportation for however they choose to travel."

Throughout his time in ACT, Aaron has held many leadership positions and played roles in key initiatives. He is also a graduate of the predecessor to the ImpACT! Leadership program. On his motivation to seek election, he says, "I have served on the board through the Great Recession and the Pandemic, so I have seen the benefit of an engaged board and I believe the association has proven resilient because of them. The Treasurer Position certainly allows me to continue with the board and join the Executive Committee. ACT has supported my professional development and I believe this new role is a way for me to give back."

Aaron’s career extends beyond the world of TDM, however. One unique aspect of his resume is a win from a business plan competition for what eventually became Branch Out Cider. This cooperative initiative brought together over 300 homeowners and 600 apple trees to produce locally fermented apple wine. This effort received wide acclaim, even earning the title of 'Best Fruit Wine in the State.’

Outside of work, you can find Aaron embracing Colorado’s outdoor lifestyle. Whether he is backcountry skiing in the winter or whitewater kayaking, gravel riding, and mountain biking in the summer, you can find him enjoying all the Rockies have to offer. He also gives back to his community as a volunteer mediator for the City of Fort Collins, where he helps resolve neighborhood and workplace conflicts.

In his 2025-2026 board term, Aaron looks forward to supporting ACT's membership growth, the continued excellence of the TDM-CP credential, and the Accredited TDM Organization initiative, which his organization helped to pilot.
