Student membership

Investing in the next generation of TDM professionals

The Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) recently launched a free student membership program. This initiative aims to expand student access to our community of over 1,400 professionals in the urban planning, sustainability, engineering, mobility, and transportation fields. As a member of the association, students will learn more about these career paths and develop a strong network in these industries.

They will also gain access to the many benefits of ACT's membership, including:

  • Professional development
  • Networking opportunities
  • Industry events
  • Webinars
  • Membership in a regional chapter
  • Ability to join themed councils
  • Access to a members-only online discussion platform
 Join ACT today!

Students have long been able to join the association, but this new initiative removes membership dues to increase accessibility. As of November 2024, more than 200 have taken advantage of the opportunity to join ACT at no cost.

Theo Daniel Wyss-Flamm, student at UC Berkeley says, "Being involved with ACT is a fantastic opportunity for me to learn from and connect with TDM professionals from across the country. The wealth of knowledge and collaboration that ACT facilitates is extremely important to me as I jumpstart my career and refine my interests in the TDM world."

To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time (according to their program) at an accredited higher education institution. Full-time status may vary by program, and those unsure if they qualify are encouraged to contact ACT at membership@actweb.org.
