Purpose
The Employer Council serves as a collaborative space for networking, sharing best practices, ideas, questions, resources, and real-world experiences among peers. This council includes employer representatives; TDM professionals; regional transportation, air quality, and planning officials; as well as state and local government officials. Members assist each other through conversations in the Council’s Connect community, periodic conference calls, articles in TDM Review, sessions at the annual ACT conference, and policy memos to government agencies.
The council’s committees (including the new Dynamic Work Models Committee) address and share information related to employee commute programs and hybrid work as alternative forms of commuting for today’s evolving workforce. By promoting telework and other commute programs, the council aims to reduce congestion, improve air quality, and decrease energy dependence. Core participants include managers and coordinators at small to large sized employers, and other key stakeholders. Issues addressed by the council include regional training programs, workplace issues, local policies, and technology trends and developments.
