REMINDER Policy Alert: Take Action to Protect Commuter Tax Benefits

Public Policy,

Dear ACT members,

Last week, ACT released a policy alert containing valuable resources to guide our members on how to advocate for the preservation of the Qualified Transportation Fringe Benefit - now at risk of elimination. Included in this alert, and now published on our website, is a call script and letter/email template to assist in reaching out to your representatives.

We want to remind everyone that these tools are available, and we encourage all to take action at this critical moment. As the budget reconciliation process takes shape, we are committed to ensuring our members have the right resources to make their voices heard on this important issue. At ACT, we believe that our members’ outreach to their elected officials is impactful, and through these efforts, we can save the benefit.

If you are unsure, use this link to find your representative. You may contact the Congresspeople who represent your work site, service area, and/or your residential address if they are different. Please keep Emma Wasserman, ACT’s Government Affairs and Policy Manager (ewasserman@actweb.org) apprised of all outreach efforts so that ACT can better strategize on our collective efforts (cc on emails, let her know about calls, etc.).

While all outreach efforts are appreciated, there are a select few Congresspeople who will be critical to have voice support. Given the razor-thin margins in Congress, we only need to get a small number of Republicans to defend the benefit. If you are a constituent of the following members, your advocacy efforts are truly needed:
