Executive Director's Report March 2025
Hello from the UK!
As I write this, our ACT Delegation is in the midst of an exciting week in the UK, meeting with transportation leaders and exploring best practices in managing mobility for major events. While we still have much to experience, one early takeaway is clear: venues are most successful in achieving their mode shift goals when TDM is prioritized and integrated into the long-term planning for facilities. From London’s Olympic legacy to the sustainable transport strategies at Wembley and Wimbledon, we’re seeing firsthand how proactive investment in public transit, active transportation, and prioritization of demand management strategies creates lasting impact. I and others in the delegation look forward to sharing key insights with you all when we return!
We are thrilled to announce that registration is officially open to all for the 39th Annual International Conference! This is the premier event for TDM, bringing together over 650 professionals to learn from industry experts and shape the future of mobility. Early bird rates are available, so be sure to register soon to lock in your spot!
Spring is always a season of renewal, and for ACT, it’s a time to re-energize our work in advancing TDM nationwide. This year’s Spring Into TDM campaign will feature exciting five regional events being hosted by chapters across the country. These events are not just great for members but are a perfect way for you to introduce or reinforce the important role your organization plays in improving transportation options for your community, so we encourage you to invite your stakeholders and allied organizations to attend an event near you. Interested in making it easier for them to attend – check with your chapter to learn about discounts for these non-members.
We have also released ACT’s Annual Report, highlighting the incredible work done over the past year. From policy wins to conference growth and activities throughout our chapters and councils, this report is a testament to the strength of our community and the impact of TDM.
Are you interested in shaping the future of ACT? Our board elections process will kick off in June, providing an opportunity for members to step into leadership roles and help guide the organization forward. Keep an eye out for the official nomination timeline and details on how you can get involved. If you are interested in learning more about the opportunity to serve in this crucial role, feel free to reach out to me with questions or to schedule a call.
As always, thank you for your continued engagement in the ACT community, your work is what moves us forward.
Best,
David
