2025-2026 Board spotlight: Allie Velleca, TDM-CP
Allie Velleca is a TDM Project Manager at AECOM, a SEACT Chapter member, and an incoming At-Large Director on ACT's Board of Directors. Meet Allie and learn more about her in this October board spotlight!
When she joined the industry in 2011, Allie was initially drawn to TDM's connection to air quality and health. As someone who navigated childhood asthma, this focus is especially important to her, and so is reducing VMT to improve communities' and children's quality of life.
Throughout the past 13 years, she has served in a variety of impactful industry roles. As a Commuter Services Coordinator, she led commuter engagement activities, then as an Employer Program Manager, she served businesses in a dense employment district. Next, Allie served as an operations lead and then a Program Manager for a regional TDM program. In her current role as a TDM Project Manager, she provides valuable oversight for program development and strategic planning and supports key project initiatives.
When asked about what drives her, Allie says, "I’m motivated by my competitive nature, which comes from my background in competitive dance. This drive is why I love the consulting aspect of my job—I never want to settle. I credit Tom Freese’s sales training with shaping my mindset, particularly the idea of satisfying needs through “gold medals” (desires) or “German shepherds” (avoiding pain). I’ve always been a “gold medal” person, striving to be the best in everything I do."
From her time as the SEACT Chapter's Vice President to her roles as Vice Chair and Chair of the Telework Council, Allie has been involved in many different pillars of the association. Her service in these positions and industry experience led to her recognition as an Emerging Leader and a 40 Under 40. As an active member, she has had the opportunity to participate and engage with many events and initiatives.
"One of my favorite ACT events was the Future of Commuting Summit in Pittsburgh in 2022. It was my first ACT event outside of the International Conference, and the intimate hotel setting meant you couldn’t help but run into fellow attendees in the lobby or hotel bar," says Allie. "The smaller size of the conference created even more opportunities for networking, and I finally got to meet many people in person whom I had only connected with virtually during the pandemic. Plus, I discovered my love for attending home baseball games with colleagues—shout out to Casey, who I suspect purposely schedules conferences when the home team is playing!"
Outside of work, Allie enjoys exercising and reading. On weekdays, she often wakes up at 5 a.m. to work out and start her day on a strong note.
Allie says, "I’m passionate about movement. Growing up as a dancer, I’ve always believed that movement is incredibly beneficial for mental health and is one of the most important things we can do for our bodies and overall well-being. It’s also something I’m excited to pass along to my kids."
As an At-Large Director, she looks forward to shaping the association's future as it adapts to changes in the TDM industry. Following in the footsteps of her mentor Kristin Slaton, she is excited to share AECOM’s unique perspective and continue strong representation of women on the board. Please join us in welcoming Allie to the 2025-2026 Board of Directors!
