Add your voice to ACT's Reauthorization Working Groups
2024 and 2025 are big years for transportation legislation in Congress, with several opportunities to advance TDM policies. Learn more how you can help influence ACT’s legislative proposals, what opportunities lie ahead for ACT, and what is being done to capitalize on them below.
With the passage of the FAA Reauthorization Act this year, anticipating the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act passing next year, and the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) expiring next year, ACT has launched three working groups to capitalize on the opportunity each piece of legislation presents. The Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act authorizes funding for surface transportation programs, and ACT’s Surface Transportation Reauthorization Task Force is currently collecting asks that the policy team can lobby for as the process gets underway. In the FAA Reauthorization Act, Section 736 instructs the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to conduct a study of TDM efficacy at U.S. airports. ACT’s FAA Reauthorization Working Group consists of ACT policy staff, airports, and airport stakeholders to collect resources and serve as a resource to GAO as they conduct their study. Lastly, with TCJA expiring, ACT has assembled a Commuter Benefits Working Group to advocate for the reinstatement of commuter benefits and other tax related TDM policy.
We are anticipating having monthly meetings for each of these groups. If you are interested in participating in one or more, contact Zach Calderón.
