A 2024 welcome letter from President David McMaster
Did you begin the New Year with resolutions, reflection, or a new watchword?
It is common practice for many to use it as a time to start on a path to better health, self-improvement, better relationships, or other similar things. It’s also a time that has a way of getting very busy – new projects, new work plans, new challenges, and new opportunities.
As I reflect on 2023, the most important thing for me has been the ACT community. I celebrate the strong programs and events many of us participated in last year, starting with ImpACT! Leadership in February and including the International Conference in Seattle, TDM Week, and the TDM Forum in LA, among others. I hope you also took away valuable insights and experiences from these or other ACT programs. A few favorites for me were the launch of the TDM Hall of Fame, being back on Capitol Hill advocating for TDM, and expansion of our communities of practice with multiple new councils plus the Women in TDM community.
We also spent much time last year planning for an even better 2024. I urge you to take time to experience as much of it as possible. Several of you are already packing for ImpACT! Leadership 2024 or working hard to plan for our upcoming International Conference and the ACT West Coast Regional TDM Summit. I’m personally excited about heading to Charlotte, North Carolina this fall for a TDM Forum that promises the opportunity to take deeper dives into some key TDM topics.
There are many ways to engage with and experience the ACT community. Your best resolution for 2024 could be to make time to do just that!
Happy New Year!
David McMaster
President of the ACT Board of Directors
