Meet the speaker
Shailen Bhatt is a Senior Vice President and the Chief Operating Officer for AtkinsRéalis in the United States, Latin America and the company’s Minerals & Metals business.
Shailen’s professional history is unparalleled having previously served as the Administrator for the Federal Highway Administration providing strategic executive leadership for all agency initiatives. He has helped deliver billions of dollars of projects across the country and has become a global voice for innovation in transportation. During his career he has worked on every mode of transportation including transit, aviation, and active transportation. He is a former CEO of ITS America, a member of the ITS World Congress Hall of Fame and recently received the ITS World Congress Lifetime Achievement Award for his tireless dedication to transportation technology that engineer a better future for our planet and its people. Shailen has held leadership positions with Colorado Department of Transportation, Delaware Department of Transportation and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as well as in the private sector. He graduated summa cum laude at Western Kentucky University. When he is not working he loves to play hockey and go for bike rides with his wife and two daughters.
