Executive Director's Report February 2025
The start of this year has been nothing short of eventful. With many controversial actions being taken by the new Administration through Executive Orders and agency memorandums that have caused confusion and uncertainty, it’s clear that many of us have concerns and questions about what these changes might mean for our TDM work and beyond. ACT has developed a resource page to track these orders and memos and will continue to update it as new information becomes available.
As we saw during the early days of the pandemic, it is times like these that highlight the great value and importance of being part of a community like ACT. It was truly inspiring to see over 175 members join our recent virtual discussion on the current state of affairs. The event provided opportunities for members to share what is happening in their communities, ask questions, and discuss future opportunities for engagement and action. Many thanks to all of you for making it such a meaningful conversation.
Amidst all of this, ACT continues to advance critical initiatives. Earlier this month, our Board of Directors convened for its first meeting of the year in Atlanta. A significant milestone was reached as we formally adopted the Accredited TDM Organization program after a one-year pilot welcomed our first group of accredited organizations. This is the first-ever program to recognize organizations that meet high standards of excellence in our field. This is a huge step in elevating TDM’s impact and establishing benchmarks for success. Additionally, we are gearing up for a very special occasion—ACT’s 40th Anniversary! A committee is already hard at work planning a celebration worthy of this milestone, but we need more hands to make it truly exceptional. If you’re passionate about ACT’s mission and history (or just like to plan fun celebrations), we invite you to join the planning committee.
