2024-2025 ACT Board Spotlight: Jane Bowman Brady
Jane Bowman Brady is the Executive Director of GO ITHACA and an incoming At-Large Director on ACT's 2024-2025 Board. Meet Jane and learn more about her in this special October spotlight!
Since 2021, Jane has worked to uplift sustainable and reliable transportation options within Tompkins County and the City of Ithaca in upstate New York. GO ITHACA, a small TMO, offers a free membership program that provides bus passes, credit for local carshare, discounted bikeshare memberships, an emergency ride home program, a carpooling network, and more. The organization also hosts its "Easy Access" program, which offers additional benefits to those who are low-income.
"It is very rewarding to come in to work every day, knowing that I am helping people get to where they need to go in an affordable, accessible, and sustainable way," says Jane.
Jane has worked in the TDM industry for three years and brings urban planning policy and air quality perspectives to her current role. Before her time at GO ITHACA, she worked as a Policy Analyst in Urban Planning and Air Quality for the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment.
During her time in ACT, Jane has been involved in the Higher Education Council, Marketing & Communications Council, and TMA Council. She is also a 2022 40 Under 40 Award recipient and a member of the ImpACT! Leadership class of 2023, in which she studied TDM funding sources.
Her work enables her to address mobility challenges in rural areas and promote access to a diverse range of transportation options. She is passionate about environmentalism and equity in TDM and is excited about opportunities to connect with other professionals in the field.
"I really enjoy how friendly and welcoming and willing to connect people are," says Jane. I love when people in the industry randomly reach out to me on LinkedIn and want to chat about TDM. There are a lot of really passionate people working in this area."
In her free time, Jane enjoys baking and decorating cakes. She also volunteers in the public health space and serves on the boards of the Seneca Falls Museum of Waterways and Industry and the Center for Community Transportation.
As an At-Large Director of ACT, Jane looks forward to contributing her TMO perspective to the conversation. Please join us as we welcome Jane to the 2024-2025 Board of Directors!
