New England is experiencing a revolution in commuter benefits.
Both the MBTA and CT Transit have launched contactless payment systems, allowing riders to pay for transit as easily as they buy a cup of coffee. This opens up a world of possibilities for transit benefits, well beyond Perq. The federal pre-tax bike benefit is also scheduled to return in December 2025, making this a great time for New England employers to reevaluate and modernize their commuter benefit offerings.
