A TDM Week to remember
Because of you, we'll be talking about this TDM Week for years to come! Check out some highlights from the week below.
Public proclamations
One of the ways communities across the country can join TDM Week is through the passage of public proclamations. This year, we were thrilled to receive eight from states, counties, and cities throughout the nation. ACT members and TDM Week participants worked hard to coordinate requests from their elected leaders in the following locations:
Each of these proclamations adds to TDM Week's impact, scale, and influence. Many of the above communities recognized TDM Week for the first time this year, and we look forward to seeing which ones will join the movement in 2025!
#TDMWeek was the talk of the town
The official hashtag of the week is #TDMWeek each year, and it was great to see such strong engagement on each platform. It seems like each time we opened up a new platform, we saw new posts and resources shared. As professionals in transportation, mobility, planning, and related fields, we likely all have connections within our networks who would benefit from learning about TDM. What better time to share this information with them than TDM Week?
Across platforms, there was a total reach of 55.5k! That's a whole lot of eyes on TDM Week content.
From organizations to personal accounts, and even elected leaders, there was such strong involvement. One highlight included recognition from Congressman Mike Thomspon.
The first-ever TDM Week pledges
If you took a pledge this year, you were one of the first to do so ever. This year, ACT rolled out the notion of TDM Week pledges to gather information about which actions folks planned to do throughout the week. In the pledge form, we provided a list of options to choose from in the areas of communications, events, and policy. Communications was the area with the strongest pledges with a total of 146, with policy following behind at 62 and events at 38.
Chapters and Councils in ACTion
ACT Chapters and Councils were busy this TDM Week! It was fantastic to see events, social media campaigns, and more happening throughout the week. A few highlights include:
- The Cascade Chapter's proclamation photo initiative, where members throughout the region took pictures with proclamations from their communities
- The Chesapeake Chapter's TDM Week social media campaign, where members used a special hashtag to get involved
- Chapter webinars from the Northern California, Red River, and Mid-Atlantic Chapters centered around carbon and congestion reduction, and strategies for HR, TDM, and sustainability professionals
- In-person social events in Austin, TX, Oakland, CA, and Los Angeles, where members of the Red River, Southern California, and Northern California Chapters gathered to celebrate TDM Week, exchange resources, and share highlights
- And more!

Thank you to the 2024 TDM Week participants. Every action, no matter how large or small, added momentum to the movement. It grows larger each year, and we can't wait to see what will happen next!
