Midwest Chapter - Chapter Member Recognition Awards 2024

General News,
Congratulations to the recipients of the 2024 Midwest Chapter Member Recognition Awards!

Cameron Roberts, University Circle Inc.
Chapter Member of the Year

On a daily basis, Cameron manages TDM efforts on behalf of a district that hosts 70,000 jobs, 10,000 residents, and more than 12 million annual visitors. In nearly two years with the Midwest Chapter, Cameron has been both a consistent participant in Chapter activities and a ready volunteer when additional leadership is needed. Most recently, Cameron has served on the Nominating Committee for 2024-2025 Board Officers, shared best practices during the fall 2023 Midwest TDM webinar, and is leading the TDM Week Planning Committee on behalf of the chapter. His service is greatly appreciated by the ACT Midwest leadership team!

Cole Hiniker, Metropolitan Council, Minneapolis Twin Cities
Local TDM Advocate of the Year

Cole Hiniker’s dedicated leadership in the Twin Cities metro area has been instrumental in developing a formal regional structure for TDM and adding a new staff position that will focus on advancing TDM strategies to implementation. The 2023 Regional TDM Study Cole led resulted in new TDM recommendations being included in the Regional Transportation Plan, and a detailed action plan to improve coordination among existing TMAs; streamline traveler communications; and integrate TDM into land use and development planning. Cole also actively shares his expertise with national and regional TDM conversations via ACT National and Midwest Chapter activities.

Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority
Organizational Member of the Year

CIRTA is a leader in sustainable commuting and its organization has multiple active members in the ACT Midwest Chapter. Their staff regularly attend Chapter meetings, both in person and virtually held events. Most notably, their Assistant Director and Mobility Manager, Amanda Meyer has joined the Midwest Chapter Leadership team as the new Marketing Chair. In addition to CIRTA supporting and empowering their staff to join their ACT Chapter leadership team, their organization will also be present at the international conference this year in Phoenix. Their commitment to not only involvement but active participation in the Midwest Chapter and ACT overall has been a shining example of an organization contributing to and receiving back the value ACT provides!

Zia Brucaya, Greater Madison MPO
Promoter of the Year

Zia is currently serving as the Membership Chair for the ACT Midwest Chapter. She's been a very active member of the Chapter and consistently volunteers and actively engages with other members of our chapter. In her current role, she personally welcomes all our new members and helps them "onboard" with ACT National as well as the Midwest Chapter.  Last year she was recognized for the ACT 40 under 40 award.

Amanda Meyer, Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority (CIRTA)
Rising Star Award

Amanda is currently serving as the Marketing Chair for the ACT Midwest Chapter. In her short time in TDM and with CIRTA, she's made a tremendous impact by participating as a panelist on the "TDM in the Midwest" webinar in October 2023. In addition, she participated as part of the host committee for ACT's "THE Climate ACTion Summit" when it was held in Indianapolis in Spring 2023. Amanda also participated in the ACT ImpACT! Leadership Program. She is definitely a "Rising Star" in the Midwest TDM scene and deserves recognition.
