As a Senior Outreach Specialist at Convey, you will lead and implement innovative public engagement and outreach strategies for diverse communities, focusing on transportation demand management (TDM), environmental planning, and sustainable practices. We’re a growing firm, so you’ll need to be responsible, collaborative, and move quickly yet precisely within a dynamic environment. You’ll need to be meticulously organized with strong communication skills to interact with a variety of roles, internally and externally.

As a strategic team member of Convey, you will…
  • Collaborate closely with team members, clients, and stakeholders to design and execute multifaceted engagement campaigns that promote behavior change and foster community involvement
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication and outreach strategies that promote sustainable transportation behaviors 
  • Lead community engagement efforts, including organizing public meetings, workshops, and events, both in-person and virtually, to foster positive relationships with stakeholders and the public
  • Design and produce compelling communication materials (digital and print), ensuring alignment with client goals and cultural relevance for target audiences
  • Monitor and analyze outreach effectiveness, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and maximize impact
  • Collaborate with project managers, subject matter experts, and creative teams to ensure outreach activities meet project timelines, objectives, and client expectations
  • Perform and ensure quality assurance/quality control when preparing draft deliverables for a project manager and/or principal to review

You must have… 
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in community engagement, public outreach, or communications, particularly within the transportation, environmental, or public health sectors
  • Strong critical thinking and strategic planning skills, with a focus on designing outreach strategies that promote behavior change and engagement
  • Compelling storytelling skills with an eye for integrating graphic design and written content together to create cohesive, streamlined work product
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team to create engaging and culturally relevant content for a range of audiences, utilizing both digital and traditional media
  • Experience collaborating with internal specialists and/or external vendors for web, video, graphic design, printing, mailing, and translation needs
  • Demonstrated success driving project deliverables and executing ongoing project needs with a high degree of self-direction
  • Experience managing and delivering smaller projects or leading distinct project workstreams

It’d be great if you had...
  • Prior experience with marketing TDM or mobility programs, specifically to employers and/or Equity Priority Communities
  • A successful track record at a communications or marketing/PR agency, or as a member of a communications team at a company or organization
  • Experience as a project manager at a consulting firm or government agency
  • Experience working with project/task management tools such as Teamwork or Asana
  • Fluency in a second language, such as Spanish

This is a full-time, non-exempt role with an expected hourly pay range of $40.00/hour ($83,200 annually) to $55.00/hour ($114,400 annually). Convey offers vacation and sick leave, healthcare, 401K with company match, and other benefits, pending eligibility. Hybrid schedule of in-office (Emeryville) and remote work currently in place. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
