Jonathan Hopkins, TDM-CP

Jonathan builds and manages TMAs and support transit funding campaigns. He is a shared mobility and mode shift expert with executive experience in all modes of shared mobility and public transportation. A former vice president of mobility at the nation’s leading high speed rail provider Brightline, Jonathan oversaw successful implementations of mobility as a service (MaaS), real time arrival systems, pooled ridesharing systems, time-synchronized shuttle services, and a 90% reduction in cost per rider metrics while expanding service lines. Jonathan also led program implementations, public engagement and political engagement at other leading national entities. This included bikeshare, scootershare and carshare programs at Lime where Jonathan was responsible for a territory that included nine states in the Mountain West and all of Canada. Jonathan also launched numerous cities and implemented innovative public-private partnerships while at ridesharing giant Uber. At Commute Seattle, Jonathan led the nation’s most successful congestion reduction TDM program that reduced SOV use by over 4,000 vehicles a day during a time period in which the region gained 60,000 jobs. Work at Commute Seattle was underwritten by transit agencies, the city DOT, and the downtown business association and resulted in transit ridership growth of 50,000 daily riders during the same period. Jonathan also played an instrumental role in shaping transit measures for public vote, including a leading role behind Seattle’s $54 billion ST3 transit measure that is paying for a 61-mile increase to the size of the region’s transit system, as Seattle Subway’s political director and lead negotiator.
