David was hired as the Executive Director for the Association for Commuter Transportation in December 2015. With a career in Transportation Demand Management (TDM) that began in 1998, he brings a deep understanding and commitment to the issues and challenges facing TDM professionals and organizations as they look to advance progressive programs and policies that support the use of sustainable transportation options that improve the quality of life of commuters and the livability of communities. As Executive Director, David manages the day-to-day operations of the 800 member organizations and works with its Board of Directors to achieve its mission of supporting TDM professionals in the advancement of TDM in communities and at work sites across the country. Prior to joining ACT, David served as Director of Development & Programs at A Better City (ABC) in Boston, where he also served as the Executive Director for the ABC Transportation Management Association (TMA). As a member of ABC’s senior leadership team, he oversaw the activities of ABC’s Environmental Unit, Transportation Demand Management & Sustainability programs; and tasks related to the organization’s development and operations.
A native of Oregon, David graduated from Portland State University. He received a Certificate in Non-Profit Management and Leadership from Boston University. He currently lives in Sharon, MA with his wife, three children, and a varying number of chickens.
Casey Murphy, Director of Programs & Events

Casey joined ACT in January 2017. She brings over 10 years of Meeting and Event Management experience along with a strong background in Association Management. Casey oversees the planning and management of ACT’s events and programs. Prior to joining ACT, Casey was the Executive Director of NEHRSA (New England, Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association) where she oversaw all day-to-day operations for a 400+ regional member association. NEHRSA is also the sister organization to IHRSA (International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association) where she first started her career as the Meeting and Event Manager producing events for the association all over the world. Casey is a graduate of Boston College and has a degree in Communications & Human Development. She currently lives in Walpole, MA with her husband Mike and two children Lindsey & Luke.
Amanda Brangwynne, Membership & Communications Coordinator

Amanda is a 2018 graduate of Dickinson College where she studied Environmental Studies and Policy Management. She became the Membership & Communications Coordinator for ACT in November 2018 where she manages the membership database and serves as the main point of contact for ACT members. She also manages ACT’s newsletter and social media accounts. Amanda is passionate about TDM as a solution to many of the world’s social, environmental, and economic problems. Her favorite methods of commuting include biking and public transit.
