Valley of the Sun Chapter Adds Insight to Bikesharing Industry
June 30, 2016
The introduction of new bikesharing businesses is on the rise worldwide as bicycling for transportation is increasingly adopted as a viable solution to mobility challenges. ACT’s Valley of the Sun Chapter was curious to know how public and private entities, specifically municipalities, could leverage growth in the bicycle sharing industry to transform urban commuting. The chapter recently hosted a brown bag lunch forum titled, Bikesharing: Insight’s from Today’s Adopters. Following a brief history of the industry presented by chapter president Tony Perez, Salt River Project policy analyst Seth Blumen and Pima County Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Manager, Matthew Zoll shared how public/ private partnerships in bikesharing benefit workplace communities, residents and the greater public.
